Maija Luutonen (b. 1978 in Helsinki, Finland) works mainly with painting and drawing on sheets of paper that hang on the wall or alternatively come into the space. Her works often address the relationship between the viewer and the work by the scale and space they inhibit. Also basic perspectives and the built environment interest her. Luutonen often works by layering several co- existing images on top of each other that form a kind of alternative space.
